Blac Chyna is reportedly partnering with a skin-lightening cream company, which will reportedly roll out a Chyna-endorsed cream for $250 per jar. TMZ reports that “Whitenicious X Blac Chyna Diamond Illuminating & Lightening Cream” has a Swarovski-studded jar, and is being marketed to men and women of all skin types.

“As time passes, skin becomes drier, dull, lines and wrinkles appear and the skin’s natural glow dims,” the product’s website description says. “With DIFBC, glowing skin shows less discolouration and unevenness while SPF protection minimises future damage. Skin is bathed in moisture for a brighter beautiful comfortable feel.”

“BC’s been using Whitenicious dark spot corrector for a few years to deal with her hyperpigmentation,” the site reads. TMZ also writes that since so many women of color deal with skin issues, Chyna felt like it was a great product to endorse, albeit controversial.

This year, there have been a few headlines about dark-skinned women and men being photographed with much lighter complexions. Former MLB star Sammy Sosa defended his increasingly lightened skin with Sports Illustrated.

More recently, dancehall artist Spice recently came under scrutiny for emerging on social media with a much lighter complexion. She later stated that she posted a picture with her lighter skin to “create awareness to colorism” and create shock value, noting that her skin is not actually bleached.

“I chose to do this in the manner I did because I believe Colorism is plagiarizing our black community,” she wrote on social media. “While It appeared as if I had ‘bleached’ my skin, causing a worldwide debate, and even though the picture was obviously birthed around my single titled ‘Black hypocrisy’ and my mixtape Captured… it was more so done intentionally to create shock value so that I could have the worlds undivided attention to deliver the message in my music.”

Wondering what shenanigans endeavors Chyna will get into next.
