It has been 23 years since Victoria and David Beckham exchanged vows in gothic splendor at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland. The two appeared in the 10th episode of season 11. Playing themselves, in their scene Beckham and Cox find themselves embroiled in an amusing case of mistaken identity while the Dunphys enjoy a day at Alex's swanky new apartment complex. They end up in the hot tub, believing they're with a hot-shot bowling coach ahead of a celebrity competition.
ABC's episode synopsis explains: "As everyone spends the day at Alex's fancy new apartment building, The Prescott, Luke (Nolan Gould) and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) manage to find themselves in a mix-up with Higgins (guest star Stephen Merchant) that might have them hanging out with guest stars David Beckham and Courteney Cox. From 'The Prescott,' season 11, episode 10 of Modern Family."
While I'm sure the whole acting lark came as second nature to Cox, Beckham was absolutely buzzing to be on the show, having said in an on-set video: "I'm here in LA on the set of Modern Family, which I'm really excited about.
"I'm not just a massive fan, but to be here and to be playing a part - that's really incredible, so I'm really excited."
Victoria Beckham Is More Of A Supportive Wife
Most wives would feel uncomfortable if their significant other were half naked in a steamy hot tub with another woman. Thus, fans often wondered how Victoria felt about that particular scene in the series.
At the time, the pair raised concern after Courteney Cox was spotted placing her hand on David Beckham's leg while filming the steamy cameo.
Courteney shared a series of snaps to her Instagram which featured show stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet. Clad in a bikini, she smiled at the camera while David, in swim shorts, got close to her for the shot.
David broke the news of his appearance on the hit comedy show by sharing an Instagram snap of himself and the actress reading a script.
He wrote: "I met a new FRIEND today at work @courteneycoxofficial #modernfamily."
His wife Victoria gushed over the post, and said: "I can't wait!!!!!!! Kisses x".
Victoria's comment made fans feel a bit more at ease because if she can trust her husband in such a circumstance, then so can they.
The Entire Beckham Family Visited The Filming Location
Victoria shared a picture showing children Brookyln, Romeo, Cruz and Harper posing on the sofa as husband David attempts to take on man of the house status from Jesse Tyler Ferguson as he stands proudly on the staircase.

Tyler also shared a picture from the visit and joked that he had taken over the role of Victoria while the fashion designer was busy playing Claire.
